Defender is based on the Microsoft Security Essentials app which offers better protection by adding full blown protection against all kinds of malware. However, despite Microsoft\u2019s claims that it offers full protection, studies have found that third party antivirus apps still offer better protection. If you prefer to use a third party anti malware app, you might want to disable Windows Defender.<\/p>\n<h3>Here is How to Turn the Windows Defender Off:<\/h3>\n<div class=\"w10steps\">\n<ul>\n<li>STEP 1: At first, press <img src=\"http:\/\/info.greatis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/win-r-combination.png\" alt=\"win-r-combination\"  class=\"responsive-img\" \/> on the keyboard and type the following in the Run box:<br \/>\n<b><i>%ProgramFiles%\\Windows Defender\\MSASCui.exe<\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/info.greatis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/windows-10-defender-settings.png\" alt=\"windows-10-defender-settings\" class=\"responsive-img\" \/><\/p>\n<li>STEP 2: Run it and click on the <b>Settings<\/b> button.<\/li>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/info.greatis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/windows-10-turn-off-real-time-protection.png\" alt=\"windows-10-turn-off-real-time-protection\" class=\"responsive-img\" \/><\/p>\n<li>STEP 3: The <b>Settings<\/b> app will be opened. Toggle the &#8220;<b>Real-time protection<\/b>&#8221; option to <b>Off<\/b>.
